Welcome to the Waste 2 Energy website
Waste 2 Energy (W2E) is an interregional initiative which is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the INTERREG IVC programme. INTERREG IVC is a co-operation programme that helps the Member State regions of the European Union share experience and good practice in the areas of innovation, the knowledge economy, the environment and risk prevention.
The W2E project focuses on the potential to improve the sustainable management of waste in Europe's regions, and to produce energy from waste. The project brings together eight regional partners from across the European Union with the overall aim of exchanging knowledge and good practice about techniques for energy recovery from waste, and to develop regional action plans to improve levels of energy recovery.
